Social Justice

Social justice opportunities empower members to live their values through meaningful action in the wider community. Grounded in Unitarian Universalist commitments to equity and compassion, these efforts address issues like climate justice, racial equity, and human rights. They are vital to the congregation’s mission, transforming shared beliefs into tangible impact and collective care.

Poetry Reading by Bill Reilly: “Start with a Strong Emotion…” | August 16th | 11:45am | The Board Room

Our UUCA members have so many shared and hidden talents! Bill Reilly began writing poetry during college and took it upon again during Covid, with the encouragement of an instructor at Encore Learning. Some of you may recall that poetry, as defined by Wordsworth, “takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.” That’s how Bill describes his own creative process: start with a strong emotion and see where it takes you. Join us. Bill will offer We’ll a short reading, then a Q&A session. Bring your curiosity and questions. Be ready to ask about the poems or writing in general. All are welcome!
