Hold this date for Relational Training: Monday, February 28th

On Sunday, January 30^th, Natalie Fenimore reminded us of the importance of relationships and of our human need to connect relationally.  She urged us to meet in one-on-one conversation, to tell our stories to each other such that we might learn to trust.  She said: "We are renewed when we connect in genuine transformational relationships that are based upon covenants of trust."

“Easier said than done!” you might say.  Purposeful conversations don’t just happen; they must invited, scheduled, and met with gifts of time and energy.  They are intentional acts of caring.  Speaking for my shy self, I can easily procrastinate arguing: “Why would that person want to talk with me?” And then I might add: “What would I talk about anyway?”

Help is at hand.  Training in the craft of one-on-one conversation will be given on Monday, February 28 from 7:00 to 9:30 pm at Beth El Hebrew Congregation, 3830 Seminary Road, Alexandria.

Community builders refer to individual meetings as their “radical tool.”  They have proven this tool to be the most effective way to unite people in common purpose, bond, and commitment.  One-on-one conversations are the engines that drive VOICE, our capital campaign, and our ministry of beloved community. The craft of relational conversation is a life skill and a spiritual practice.  Don’t miss this important learning opportunity.
