Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, VA

A diverse, welcoming community of open hearts and minds since 1948

This past Sunday was a busy one for the Youth Group!

In recognition of the way bullying contributes to gun violence, the youth led congregants in making origami peace cranes, a continuation of last year's anti-bullying campaign.

After attending service, the youth gathered in the kitchen to make 70 bagged meals for people experiencing homelessness in Arlington. A group of them later distributed the meals at local parks. This partnership with ASPAN's Homeless Bagged Meal Program allowed the youth to connect their service and concern for the community directly to people in need.

But the Youth aren't done yet! Join the group this Sunday, February 3rd at 12:30p for the Annual Chili CUUk Off. A portion of the proceeds will go towards educational scholarships for Guatemalan Youth. We'll see you there!

70 bagged meals in 40 minutes has to be some kind of record--that's the fastest I've ever seen it go!
