The Peace Campers discussed solutions to Homelessness, Hunger, War, Animal Cruelty, and Equal Rights at an Issues Forum this week. One of their solutions to Hunger was to start a food drive for AFAC. Peace Camp 2012 left the dock today for a three week cruise on the Oceans of Peace. 72 campers and over 40 staff learned about put ups and I Care language, worked on art projects, played cooperative games, danced, visited the Peace Museum, cared for the earth, and wrote Peace songs with songwriter Noah Silver. So much fun packed into one day!

This year all of our Coffee Houses are focused on benefitting children and youth. The coffee house scheduled for Friday, Feb. 3 will focus specifically on this summer’s Peace Camp. If you feel like singing a song, telling a good joke, reciting some poetry, performing a dramatic reading or sharing any other creative talent, great or small, this would be a great time to do it. The Peace Leadership Youth Group celebrated Martin Luther King day with youth from the Perry School Peace Room. MJ Park welcomed all the youth and we passed the earth ball around as we introduced ourselves and got to know each other. We got our energy flowing by dancing, popping and locking, and hip hopping with the dance instructor. The youth then teamed up with the perry youth and split into smaller groups.
