Annual Youth Group Cereal Drive!

Youth Group Cereal Drive- Last fall we collected 500 pounds worth of cereal! We will be collecting cereal boxes again this Fall to build a wall against hunger in Fellowship Hall again this year. We are helping (Arlington Food Assistance Center) AFAC with a goal of collecting 1000 boxes of cereal to provide breakfast for the homeless.…

Social Justice - Why I work with those crazy teenagers!

Sunday afternoon, Oct. 2nd:  Drizzling rain, cold wind and a street corner in Falls Church - sounds like the makings of a good time, right?  On this gray afternoon I had the pleasure and honor to stand with a number of UUCA youth during our Peaceful Pro-Choice Presence in the heart of Falls Church to counter the 40 Days of Life campaign and demonstration.

Different VOICES from Uganda...

I am helping out my best friend Stacy Willyard (she is a research assistant at the United States Peace Institute) this Thursday night. Stacy organized the first Hip Hop and Peacebuilding Festival for DC youth with me a year ago. She is moving to Uganda in December to continue her amazing work with youth with an amazing organization called, Bavubuka pronounced as “ba voo boo ka” it is a Luganda word that means the youth.
