How long have you attended UUCAVA?: 2 years

What does multiculturalism mean to you?: I am no expert in multiculturalism I have more questions than answers. I have a lot to learn as a white European-American about being truly inclusive. It is a spiritual practice and a part of my identity I am actively exploring right now. I participated in the Building the World We Dream about Class for 1 year, Jubilee II, and I am part of UUCA's White Allies for Racial Equity Group.

What religion or spiritual practices did you grow up with?: Presbyterian

Gratitude Journal

1. It is a really nice day.

2. Grateful to be breathing.

3. Grateful for a someone to teach me how to do my taxes tomorrow.

4. Grateful I have had 4 interviews - I hope I get a job soon!

5. Grateful to be able to put food on the table.

6. Grateful for the practice of decluttering - I have begun De-cluttering for the next 30 days. I am take 45 items to Goodwill. I have actually written the items down and I will get a reciept for my taxes.

Awakening White Allies for Racial Equity (AWARE) Discussion: You can now join us online or in person!

As I wrote that last sentence, my mind wandered off to "Mr. Roger's" songs, "Getting to Know You, Getting to know all about you. Getting to like you , and hoping that you like me too..." , I also loved "it's a Beautiful day in the Neighborhood". Making new friends is always such an exciting delight. It's better than opening new presents at Christmas--because it is an on-going "opening up" of new aspects about the other and ourselves--- to me it's second only to the experience of "falling in love", and right above traveling to new places, because the other's mind/psychology/experiences/talents/world-view is so much more interesting than a geographical physical space/place--"AINT IT GRAND, AINT IT SWELL"
