Profile Information

How long have you attended UUCAVA?
4 months
What does multiculturalism mean to you?
Everything. My husband was born and raised in Morocco and my sister in law in Japan (my brother lives there now). I am an immigration attorney and work with many multicultural families.
What religion or spiritual practices did you grow up with?
I was not raised religious, though I have all people of the book in my family tree. My husband is Muslim and I converted to Islam when I married.
Tell us a little about yourself/your family/your interests:
I love travel, languages, and warm weather. I moved back to NoVa in 2009, after living in Hawaii for 9 years. I just started my own immigration law office so I work long hours but I always make time for my husband, sister, and parents, who live nearby.
Why are you a Unitarian Universalist?
I need an accepting home to practice my faith that will allow me to be on my own spiritual journey. I also draw strength from the focus on social justice.
