Profile Information

How long have you attended UUCAVA?
a few years
What does multiculturalism mean to you?
Well, it's importance to me is in the sense that people of all backrounds are accepted and valued and don't have to give up their native culture or heritage to participate in the group, organization, or american society as a whole.
What religion or spiritual practices did you grow up with?
Judaism
Tell us a little about yourself/your family/your interests:
I am married to Diane Ullius, we have been together for close to 30 years. I worked in nonprofits for about 35 years creating programs for people with disabilities and the elderly and working for LGBT acceptance/rights.I have been more involved with spiritual study more than with formal religion, and although I am not religious, I identify myself as Jewish. Currently I volunteer for hospice and Metro DC PFLAG. My main goal now is to find my new path, since I stopped working 4 years ago because of a brain lesion that has healed, but still leaves me with a terrible memory and poor organizational skills, relativive to how I was before.
Why are you a Unitarian Universalist?
Actually, I consider myself a Jewish Unitarian. I And I joined UUCA because I believe in the Principles and value the social justice values it stands for. I joined to see what it means to do social justice from a spiritual perspective, and be part of a community.

He is now  in DC seeking asylum.…

UUCA/GLSEN Stop Bullying Conference News clip

Fox did a great job! They filmed the entire panel discussion and the reporter made sure that the station saved the space for the story. See for yourself!

Marriage Equality Needs YOUR VOICE

Most UU's probably support the right of gay and lesbian  people to marry whoever they want. Many probably don't know how important it is in many aspects of life. Being denied equal marriage rights can effect  Social Security and other retirement  benefits, Medicare, long term care cost and coverage, inheritance, immigration status,  adoption rights, and employment benefits including: health care, leave, financial assistance when a partner is disabled. The stories of people who have been…

Hi Rhonda,

I am still setting up my homepage. I received your invitation to join your meeting at 7:30pm, and I think I inadvertently erased it! Not sure what my timing is like yet. Can I view the agenda on-line? Thank you for being my first friend to send me a message!!
