- How long have you attended UUCAVA?

- What does multiculturalism mean to you?
- I think it can mean that you're aware of others in your midst, and that you feel interested in knowing them and act on that.
- What religion or spiritual practices did you grow up with?
- My parents were lapsed catholics that didn't ever go to church, but were embued with Catholic values.
- Tell us a little about yourself/your family/your interests:
- I'm an activist, with deep concern about our democracy, which appears to have been hijacked by corporations and big business.
And I'm very proud of the NoVA LUUP effort that has really started to go somewhere. I'm looking forward to the 2010 session of the Virginia Legislature, which I think will have more UUs than ever!

Please consider purchasing Fair Trade flowers for Mom this Sunday, or if not FT, look for locally grown flowers. Whole Foods has FT Gerber Daisies, and locally grown Peonies. Other locally-grown sources are the area Farmer's Markets, which will be in full bloom Saturday morning.

Latin American Human Rights Forum
Our church will be the host of a Latin American Human Rights forum Sat. May 1.
We will build on the Guatemala gold mining forum from a few weeks ago that provided astonishing facts about the abuse of citizens and the terrific waste and toxic after effects caused by this abusive industry that is just one aspect of the violations that have become a part of everyday life in our southern neighbors' countries.
