- Tell us a little about yourself/your family/your interests:
- I'm a former single mother, newly married, and enjoying my new life having support! I'm a preschool teacher and my job is very important to me. I'm open-minded and think conversation and communication is something that we should take joy in and is not just a necessity. I love music (especially heavy metal), cooking, and books. Recently, I have been recovering from a debilitating spinal injury that left me unable to walk for months. It has given me time to reflect on my entire perspective.
- Why are you a Unitarian Universalist?
- Because the mission statement of the church is the foundation of my entire belief system. When I first attended, heard the words, read the literature, and met the people, I truly knew I was home.

Post Surgery and Pre Rally
Surgery went exceptionally well! I am thrilled to say the surgeons told me it pretty much could not have gone any better (which is unexpected as my body does not often heal easily). They pulled out what both surgeons called a "monster" herniation that was crushing my spinal nerve column. Relief from the pain I have been experiencing was immediate and total...I have even regained all sensation I had lost in my legs and feet! Surgery kicked my butt, though. I don't know WHAT I was…

We Are Woman March, April 28
I am a newcomer to membership at UUCA. Literally...I signed the book a few weeks ago! Ever since I began attending UUCA, investigating the new issues I have been exposed to, and trying to live by the principles of Unitarian Universalism, I have been inspired. My beliefs have always been strong, but I just could never seem to get motivated to get out DO anything about them.
