A diverse, welcoming community of open hearts and minds since 1948
VOICE in ActionVOICE is a citizen's organization of more than forty religious and civic groups in Northern Virginia that collectively encompasses our region's religious, racial, ethnic, and class identities. VOICE develops local leadership and organizes citizen power to promote social justice within the political process. Through the work of its member organizations, VOICE develops an agenda of social action goals, publicly presents this agenda to elected officials, gains their support, and holds them accountable for their civic responsibilities. VOICE is a permanent political power player in the governance of Northern Virginia. This site offers a wealth of information on VOICE and on UUCA's active role. Follow the links on the sidebar for announcements of upcoming action and training events; browse our "Library" of background information on VOICE and the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF); and learn of the importance that the UUA places on VOICE-related Congregational-Based Community Organizing (CBCO). |
