UUCA Offers Wonderful Choral Opportunities
For Children and youth
One of the most fun,
friend-making/confidence-building activities we offer for the
children of UUCA is the Chalice Choir. The Choir is a wonderful
opportunity for your child(ren) to learn and have fun with music
and share with each other, the congegation, and with others outside
the UUCA community. It is also a great opportunity for us to share
and strengthen our UU values.
We meet in the Chapel (on the
lower level) each week between services, 10:30-11:05am and sing 6-8
times in services as well as for community outreach and other
events outside UUCA.
All children—Kindergarten
through 5th grade—are welcome!
Youth Ensemble: NEW this year,
the Youth Ensemble is for 4th-6th graders looking for a bit more
challenge and some autonomy! We meet in the Sanctuary from 1:15 –
1:45pm on specified Sundays and will sing in service and other
events 2-4 times this year.
The Youth Choir is a dynamic
group of teens, 7th – 12th grade, who enjoy singing a variety of
(mostly) contemporary music. We meet each week in the Sanctuary
immediately following second service from 12:30pm – 1:15pm. The
Youth Choir sings 5-7 times in service plus social outreach and
other events.
The emphasis for each Choir is
to learn and sing music we enjoy, to have fun while building both
community and confidence through singing, to foster a healthy and
satisfying way to express ourselves, and to further our
understanding of our UU values. All three groups are open to all
children and youth—no auditions necessary.
