For more than sixty years the Day Alliance has been providing opportunities for daytime social activity and intellectual stimulation for the nearly one hundred men and women who are members. Day Alliance meets the second Tuesday of the month. Sign-in is at 10:30 a.m. and is followed by a short business meeting. A special presentation begins at 11:00 a.m. A catered lunch begins at noon. Next Day Alliance Gathering: November 8: Nauck, Nauck. Who's There?
Dr. Albert O. Taylor Jr. will discuss the history of African Americans in Arlington, with emphasis on the Nauck community, the oldest such community in Arlington. Dr. Taylor was born and raised in Nauck and is the author of Bridge Builders of Nauck/Green Valley in which he highlights its achievements in the face of obstacles and the legacy it leaves for future generations in Arlington and the wider community. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the meeting.
