UUCA’s PAG–Partners for Arlington and Guatemala–was established in 2007 to sponsor human rights accompaniers in Guatemala. Over the years, UUCA has sponsored 17 accompaniers providing training and a small stipend through a partnership with NISGUA (Network in Solidarity with the People of Guatemala). Accompaniers provide a vital presence to help ensure the safety and witness for Guatemalans who are working to defend their rights under a system of oppression.

Today PAG is a comprehensive faith in action ministry that continues the Accompanier program and has expanded to provide scholarships for Guatemalan middle and high school students in a dual partnership with ADIVIMA (a grassroots Mayan community organization) and the Jefferson Unitarian Church in Golden, Colorado, and on the local level, PAG is partnered with the Buckingham Outreach Center that serves a largely Central and South American immigrant population located in our neighboring community.

For more information on PAG, please attend any of the upcoming events listed above or contact Chris and John Sutton.
