  8. The balm to the spirit when we observe acts of kindness between humans
  9. The confidence in following man’s exploration of the universe and finding it consistent with one’s own observation, logic and understanding
  10. Rejoicing in new birth as we contemplate the profound cycle of life and death
  11. The bracing insight that religions are a product of human imagination
  12. The marvel of human consciousness and its intricate workings
  13. The ecstasy of music, art and literature, and our recognition of the creators as fellow humans
  14. Sharing the mysterious windings of the heart and the magnetic bonds of friendship
  15. Our pride in the efforts of science and industry to diminish pain, poverty and hunger
  16. Recognizing insights of the world’s great teachers and trying to bring them to the current scene
