I have been getting calls recently about where to go to find what or who for quilting services. We are a healthy overbooked group of quilters around here, and the occasional project just needs this…Continue

Comment by jill herndon on October 4, 2011 at 5:09pm Thanks Suzy -- I had such a good time with you last year -- and picked up such bargains -- that I do hope to do this again.
One of my bargains was meeting a longarm quilter, Mary Tims whose charity quilting fee is about $50 a quilt. She did a KING SIZE quilt for me at under $100.00
Any quilter not here and in our groups is missing this!
Comment by Suzy Augustyn on October 4, 2011 at 8:36am The Annandale Chapter of Quilters Unlimited is having their annual auction on October 19. It begins at 10:00 am and ends around noon. There are fantastic bargains to be had from sewing notions to finished quilts. All the money raised goes to the chapter to support their programs. It is their only fundraiser for the year. It's great fun even if you don't buy anything.
Their meeting is held at:
Sleepy Hollow Methodist Church
3435 Sleepy Hollow Road
Falls Church VA
See you there!!
Suzy
Comment by jill herndon on October 3, 2011 at 7:44pm Hi Natty -- glad you have joined us. We are intact and still meet with advance planning --always have some tasks that are lighter if we do them as a group. We will be meeting this Wednesday at the Church.
I have a photo to upload of the latest of many that Agmar Raymundo has made since our Spring Working Together quilting day with the Buckingham community ladies. She tells us she has put so much prayer into it for the woman and children who will get it in a shelter. I told her the tradition of African American "healing quilts", and that she has made one.
