I joined two other Ning networks that I have an interest in, and also wanted to see how they are organizing people, and providing learning support. As a former Fed, I especially wanted to see how social networking is being used so I joined "GovLoop". It is a very different online culture. A different vocabulary. A different social group. Very interesting.

I do like that their "getting started" and next steps resources are in video and here is the link: www.govloop.com/page/getting-started-guide Remember to expand the size of the video to full screen so you can see the pages and dialogue boxes. You have my apologies in advance if you are put off as I am by too many references to "awesome" and "cool". But is is fun!

Here is a link to Ning's introduction to their product. It is a good quick reminder list of the features we have here. Take a look and see if there is something here that you have not tried yet.

Ning also has a selection of "apps" that plug in. June Herold has incorporated useful ones for us into this site to get us started. I am having fun trying out some of the others -- for group work and co-authoring, and how to turn my PC into my own TV station to broadcast to my nephews ages 3 and 5 (& thinking how this would work for VOICE action broadcasts).
