A diverse, welcoming community of open hearts and minds since 1948
Hi dear friends,
I was asked to post this announcement here in addition to a yahoo group listserve, so here goes. It's from Global Peace through Justice Task Force folks that have been working on wealth inequality (specifically in this case Moya Atkinson, Sara Anderson, Paula Bendl Smith, Sarah Munson, and me, Cynthia Adcock -- though obviously there are many others who worked with OCCUPY DC etc.)
To prepare ourselves well to participate in next year's discussions on choosing our next major social justice theme, we want to refresh our participatory democracy skills. So...we thought of a summer workshop. What do you think? Would that be helpful? Any suggestions on resources or presenters? Please post any feedback here and/or contact us in person (Sara, Moya, Sarah, Paula and me). Thank you!
Troubled by wealth inequality? Not sure what to do about it?
Want us to BE the changes we SEEK?
The Global Peace through Justice Task Force is planning a workshop this summer on diverse creative, inclusive, democratic and participatory processes and decision-making.
We invite your input—
• Help us design the workshop;
• Suggest resources and presenters;
• Bring your own experience and wisdom to the event.
PLEASE let us know your ideas by Sunday June 10!
Contact us by reply email, in person, or calling Sara Anderson, Moya Atkinson, Paula Bendl Smith, Sarah Munson, or Cynthia Adcock.
