Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, VA

A diverse, welcoming community of open hearts and minds since 1948

Dear old sac friends--
I am probably just an old fartette with out-of-date brains or tech skills, but I am wondering if these discussions are the best way for us social-action, social-justice folks to be communicating. E.g. to send out the minutes of the 10/23 gathering. I don't know how often most of us check this site for new material, but I'd like people to get the minutes. I could post them here. I'll attach the file. But is there a better way?

Cynthia, I believe that SAC has a Group. The name could be changed if SAC's name is changing. But here's a link to it. Documents should be posted there. The Group tool is being used this way by a number of other programs and activities. There's also this group. -- June
You can both post them and use the message system within your Group page.
As another old fartette, I appreciated greatly Cynthia's clearly reported account of our meeting on Saturday! I'm glad I can access our UUCA web site to read AND discuss what's taking place in our church and that we can participate in the discussions and decision-making, and that anyone can access the web site. I do question how many members actually check the web site, and imagine we should also send out emails, reminding them that they will find the Minutes there.

Is this the best place for more detailed discussions around how to promote social justice within the church and what actions to take? From my own experience with organizing groups, list servs may be better; or using the group similar to that organized for members of SAC only.

Since we don't yet exist as a formal group, should we just rename the SAC group site?

I'm looking forward to further participation in our group, whatever its name!

Posting them here creates a permanent shared history and members get an email saying that it is here and they can click to it through an active link in the email. Seems good to me -- best of both worlds?
