In this time of required social distancing, here at UUCA staying connected is more important than ever. We are providing new ways to be together and care for each other while being apart. In this new normal we strive to continue to be a place of respite, a place to grow our spirit and feed the soul, and simply a place of community. We may not be together in person, but we are together in spirit.
To help stay abreast of this constantly changing situation, we are issuing regular updates via email and social media and postings on this webpage. Please follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. At the bottom of this page, you’ll find an archive of all past updates.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
Sunday worship services are online, single service beginning at 10:15 a.m. You can join us at www.uucava.org/livestream or for a more interactive experience on Facebook. We also have a coffee chat before and after each service via Zoom. Find the Zoom link on our Facebook page on Sunday morning. Note: Our church livestreaming platform is struggling to keep up with the traffic on Sunday mornings, so streaming may be uneven. Viewing from our Facebook may get better streaming. You do not need to be a Facebook member to watch.
In times of crisis, we come together to console, to comfort, to find strength and hope. We are finding new and interesting ways to come together while practicing a healthy social distance. Please join your UUCA family online as much as you can. And, please take care of yourself and family. Know that you are not alone, you are loved and part of this beloved community.
Building and Staff
Our building and campus remain closed until further notice. During this time of closure, we are deep cleaning and preparing the building for when we are together again. UUCA office staff continue to work remotely.
Besides our current online giving through Vanco, you can now pay pledges and make donations through PayPal here, and Give Plus, an app for Android and iPhones available at the App Store. Your gifts and payment of pledges are critical at this time. We also understand that many are impacted financially during this time of crisis. We are grateful for all the gifts we receive.
If you are in need of help with grocery shopping, errands, etc., please contact Sarah Masters, Director of Congregational Life at email@example.com.
If you or you know of someone who is in need of pastoral care, please contact Sarah Masters or Diane Ullius, Commissioned Lay Minister, at UUCApastoralcare@gmail.com.
Most of UUCA programming continues virtually. Our Music Ministries, Covenant Groups, some Faith 360 classes, and new RE offerings have moved to online platforms such as Zoom and Facebook. And, there is a whole new slate of online programming specifically designed for creating community in this time of distancing. See your email updates and social media on how to join in. Newcomers to Zoom, see Walter’s Zoom basics class video here.
