About TFADP

The Task Force to Abolish the Death Penalty (TFADP) of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, VA is a church volunteer group whose goal is to help eliminate the death penalty in Virginia, the nation and the world. TFADP seeks to educate the congregation and the larger community about capital punishment issues, and it plans strategies and engages in direct action.

TFADP meets monthly at the UUCA at 10:30 a.m. on the first Sunday of the month. It maintains a listserv on Yahoo at groups.yahoo.com/group/UUCA-TFADP for communicating the latest news. For additional information about current priorities and future events contact us.

Attend the death penalty conference Faith, Values and Capital Punishment in Virginia 2005 on May 7, 2005 at UUCA. .

TFADP led the passage on June 9, 2002, of the UUCA Congregational Resolution for the Abolition of Capital Punishment.

TFADP member Penny Showell has written a powerful play called The Executioners, which was first performed at UUCA in December 2001. A video of the performance is available, as is the script.
